Choose your method
There are two ways to delete your account. The in-app method is fastest. If you can't access the app, use the email method below.

- Tap your profile picture in the top corner
- Go to Settings
- Scroll down and tap "Account"
- Tap "Delete Account"
- Read the warning, then tap "Confirm Delete"
- Your account is deleted immediately

What happens to your data
When you delete your account, here is exactly what is removed and what may be retained for legal purposes.
Permanently deleted
- Your profile (name, photo, bio)
- All dog profiles and photos
- Match history and connections
- All in-app messages and conversations
- Park check-in history
- Community posts and activity
- Paw+ subscription status
- Device tokens and push notification settings
- Location data and preferences
Retained (legal obligation)
- Transaction records — retained 7 years (Israeli tax law)
- Aggregated, anonymised analytics data (not linked to your identity)
- Correspondence relating to legal disputes, if any
- Content already published publicly that PokyoPets owns (per Terms of Service §7)
Deletion is processed within 30 days of request. Firebase data is removed in accordance with Google's deletion policies. For more detail, see our Privacy Policy.
Paw+ subscribers
Cancel your subscription first
Deleting your PokyoPets account does not automatically cancel your Paw+ subscription. You must cancel it separately through your app store to avoid future charges.

FAQ
Common questions
Answers to the most common questions about account deletion.
Can I reactivate my account after deletion?
No. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. All data is removed and cannot be recovered. If you'd like to use PokyoPets again in the future, you would need to create a new account from scratch.
What happens to messages I sent to other users?
Your side of any conversation will be deleted. Messages you sent may remain visible to recipients until they also delete their conversations, but your profile information will be removed and replaced with a placeholder.
Will my photos be removed from PokyoPets marketing?
Per our Terms of Service, content you uploaded is owned by PokyoPets. Content already used in marketing materials may not be retracted. If you wish to opt out of future marketing use before deleting, email info@pokyopets.com with subject "Marketing Opt-Out" prior to account deletion.
How long does deletion take?
In-app deletion is immediate for your visible profile and data. Full removal from backend systems (including Firebase) is completed within 30 days. You will receive an email confirmation once the process is complete.
I deleted my account but I'm still being charged for Paw+. What do I do?
Deleting your account does not cancel your App Store or Google Play subscription. You must cancel Paw+ separately through your device's subscription settings. For refund requests, contact Apple or Google directly — PokyoPets cannot process app store refunds.
Can I just deactivate temporarily instead of deleting?
PokyoPets does not currently offer a temporary deactivation option. You can stop using the app at any time without deleting. Your profile will simply remain inactive. If you wish to remove your data entirely, account deletion is the only option.
What are my rights as an Israeli user?
Under the Protection of Privacy Law, you have the right to have your data deleted. Submitting an account deletion request fulfils this right. Some data may be retained for legitimate legal reasons (such as tax records for up to 7 years). You may also submit a complaint to the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority if you believe your rights have not been respected.
