Who We Are

PokyoPets ("we", "us", "our") operates the PokyoPets mobile application — a social platform that connects dog owners for meetups, playdates, and community building. Our contact email is info@pokyopets.com.

PokyoPets operates under the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law 5741-1981 ("PPPA") and its accompanying regulations, applicable to users located in Israel.

What We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide the features of PokyoPets v2.

How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect to:

Provide and operate the PokyoPets platform, including dog matching, park check-ins, map view, playdate scheduling, and in-app messaging. Process Paw+ subscription payments and manage your account. Improve app performance, diagnose bugs, and develop new features. Send transactional notifications relevant to your use of the app (e.g. playdate requests, new matches). Comply with applicable legal obligations in Israel.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties, use your data for profiling for advertising purposes, or process your messages for marketing purposes.

Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data based on your consent, for the performance of our contract with you (delivering the service), and to comply with legal obligations that apply to us. Where we rely on consent — for example, for location data — you may withdraw it at any time through your device settings, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

Third Parties & Data Transfers

We share data with the following trusted third-party processors only to the extent necessary to deliver our services:

Google Firebase may transfer data to servers outside Israel. We do not transfer your personal data to any other third countries without appropriate safeguards.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Specifically:

Account & profile data — retained until you delete your account. Messages — retained until you or the other party deletes the conversation. Location data — not stored persistently; used in real time for park check-in and map features. Analytics data — retained in aggregated form for up to 24 months. Payment records — retained for 7 years as required under Israeli tax law.

You may request deletion of your account and data at any time via the in-app settings or by emailing us. See our account deletion page for full instructions.

Children

PokyoPets is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. Users under 18 require parental or guardian consent to use the app.

If we become aware that we have collected data from a user under 16 without appropriate consent, we will delete that data promptly. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately.

Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Our infrastructure is built on Google Firebase, which provides industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.

In-app messages are stored in Firebase Firestore with security rules that ensure only the sender and recipient can access a given conversation. Profile images are stored in Firebase Storage with access controls tied to authenticated user identities.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
